If all else fails try emptying the deleted mail folder in Outlook (or Outlook Express). I had a machine that kept shutting down and rebooting and was going crazy trying everything I could imagine including new P/S. I am not sure what put me on to that, but I was very surprised when it solved the problem.

Lost User Account
Fdisked the drive (Maxtor 80G) reformatted then new install of XP Pro SP1 and just keeps rebooting after showing the Logo for about 2-3 seconds. I ran Micorprose Diags. on the machine before hand and it passed ALL tests.... Changed memory with known good stick... Any help???
