I have only ever tried repair installation once and it hosed my system so I'm concerned about doing the same thing because they don't have ANY backups of their data. I had random rebooting in a DirecTivo which was fixed by replacing the drive. The drive (which wasn't the original) was then tested for 24 hours using the if you had loaded a good backup image to the drive after reformatting it completely, it probably would have worked just as well as replacing the drive.

I just bought an BE6-II Rev.2 and I have an annoying problem that I can't figure out. When I install Win2k or WinME on my machine, and install the drivers for the HPT 370 Mass Storage, Windows keeps rebooting just before it gets to the desktop. I flashed to the latest, XK, - that didn't help.
